InkDojo Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
This policy applies to the smartphone app "InkDojo" (the "App"). Our website (https://inkdojo.kotonoa.app) is outside the scope of this policy and is governed separately. The App is designed to respect your privacy to the fullest extent.
Learning data (stored on your device only)
Data such as your learning progress and settings is stored only on your device. It is never automatically sent, synced, or backed up to our servers or any external cloud service.
The App includes a feature that lets you export your progress data as a backup file and restore from it, entirely by your own action. Export and restore use your device's file picker, and you manage where the file is stored, shared, or deleted. We never receive the contents of that file.
If you uninstall the App, the data stored inside the App is deleted from your device (backup files you exported yourself remain wherever you saved them).
Information we do not collect
The App does not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers (AAID / IDFA). The App never asks for or uses your device's location. (When you buy a subscription, the payment provider records which country you connected from — see below.) We do not collect personal information from children.
Information involved in purchases and subscriptions
Only if you purchase or use a paid plan (subscription), information is sent to the following providers in order to process the purchase and manage your subscription status.
- The store (payment): payment is processed through the store's billing system — the App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android.
- RevenueCat (subscription management): used to activate, restore, and manage the status of purchases. RevenueCat handles an anonymous ID automatically generated by the App (your "Support ID"), your purchase and subscription history and status, and standard purchase metadata: the platform, the currency and language of your device, and the country you connected from, which is worked out from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored, and the record does not include your name, email address, phone number, children's personal information, or advertising IDs.
This information is used to activate and restore purchases, prevent fraud, manage subscription status, and understand how the App is doing — for example, which countries purchases come from. It is not used for advertising, and it is never used to work out where you are beyond the country level.
Network connectivity
The App's learning features work offline. The App may connect to the internet for things such as updating or adding content and checking purchase / subscription status.
Advertising and tracking
The App displays no ads. We do not run behaviorally targeted advertising or remarketing. We use no third-party analytics SDKs or tracking, and we do not collect advertising identifiers (AAID / IDFA).
Speech and device features
The optional read-aloud feature uses the text-to-speech voices built into your device's operating system. Speech is generated on the device; the App does not send the text or audio anywhere.
Children's privacy
The App does not collect personal information from children, in line with the intent of COPPA (the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and GDPR-K (the children's provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation). Purchases are intended to be made by an adult.
Third-party services
The App uses the store (App Store / Google Play) for payment and RevenueCat for subscription management. This processing is governed by each company's privacy policy. These services may process data on servers outside Japan (for example, in the United States).

Retention
We do not hold personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
Your learning progress, settings, and profiles are stored only on your device, and are removed from it when you uninstall the App (backup files you exported yourself remain wherever you saved them).
If you purchase a paid plan, the anonymous purchase record — your Support ID, the history and status of your purchases and subscriptions, and the country you connected from — is retained so that we can manage subscription status, restore purchases, prevent fraud, answer your inquiries, and see which countries the App is used in. That record contains nothing that identifies you personally.
The transaction records for your purchase are held by the App Store and Google Play. We cannot delete those, and each store's own policy applies to them.
Contact
Questions about this policy: [email protected]
For questions about purchases and subscriptions (for example, a purchase that has not been applied), please contact [email protected] and include your Support ID, shown under Settings → Support info in the App (tap to copy). If your store also gave you an order number, please include that as well — note that the App Store does not issue one during a free trial.
If you have changed or reset your device, please install the App again and tap "Restore purchases" first; this moves your subscription to your new Support ID. Because we do not hold purchasers' names or email addresses, we identify purchases by the Support ID.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when features or services change, when laws are amended, or when we otherwise consider it necessary. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and on our website and update the "Last updated" date. The revised policy takes effect when posted. However, for any change that newly expands the handling of children's personal information, we will obtain parental consent before it applies, as required by law. By continuing to use the App after a revision, you are deemed to have agreed to the revised policy.
